Voortman Operator

Position: Voortman Operator (CNC Machinist)     Pay: $17-19 depending on experience 

Key Responsibilities:

This position is primarily responsible for daily operation of cutting structure steel parts on our Voortman Machine (Beams/Angle/Tube/Channel).  Loading machine with proper material using overhead cranes. Will learn how to safely and effectively operate machine. Requires unloading material either by hand/crane on to pallets and flat bead trailers.

• Interfaces with production supervisors and operators on a daily basis. 
• Use tools such as tape measure, straightedge, combination square, depth gauges and calipers.
• Operate equipment - forklifts 6,000 to 30,000 lbs. capacity.

Skills Required:

• Must have a solid understanding of production in a real time fast paced environment.
• Critical, analytical, and technical thinking skills are a must.
• Forklift experience

Experience:

• 0-2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in the steel service center environment.
• Strong mathematical skills required.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling for periods of time.    
 •Ability to work exposed to elements - odor, smoke, dust, noise, cold, heat, rain, snow 
 •Occasional ascending or deciding ladders and ramps.
• Pushing, pulling, carrying up to 50 lbs
