Power Utilization Engineer (CR) A - 515302 

The ideal candidate has industrial plant or distribution power system experience. 

The PUE job functions could include but are not limited to - Commercial, Industrial, and Residential Energy Audits; Power quality meter installation; Revenue meter testing; Lighting design; Infrared scans; Ultrasonic leak surveys; Radio frequency investigation; HVAC design and evaluation.

Job Summary:

Incumbent serves as an engineer in training with duties involving the sales and delivery of technical services and engineering consulting on a wide range of program areas involving the application and marketing of TVA services and products that promote the efficient utilization of electrical energy and electric-based technologies.  Areas include power quality, HVAC, lighting, cooking, environmental, account representation, electro technologies as they apply to agricultural, industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

Incumbent generates revenue for TVA by routine technical and engineering consulting services to TVA distributors and their customers through the Comprehensive Services Program and to other TVA organizations.

Works with TVA staff and distributors to implement activities to find potential energy services and marketing projects.

As directed, provides technical advice on project definition, develops project proposals, presents proposals to customers and follows project to closure.

 

Supervision Received:

Under the supervision of the Customer Service Manager.  May be under the day-to-day direction of a PUE, Senior Level.

 

Skills and Proficiencies (May be job or organization specific):

Technical knowledge consistent with EIT; oral and written communications, presentation skills, teamwork, problem solving, familiar with distributor and customer systems and processes. 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Consistent with Classification Standard):

Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements

Bachelors’ degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Agricultural, Environmental or other engineering discipline (as job requirements dictate) from an accredited university. 

EIT certification desirable.
