While maroon and white run deep across the great state of Mississippi, there is a new color that Mississippi State fans are talking about: PINK! The American Cancer Society?s inaugural TACKLE CANCER Kickoff Event will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Gridiron located inside the Davis Wade Stadium. Festivities will begin with a welcome from the Mississippi State Cheerleaders and Bully followed by a cocktail reception with heavy hors d?oeuvres and a competitive silent auction. Guests will also enjoy a surprise appearance from members of The Famous Maroon Band! TACKLE CANCER will support the Society?s mission to save lives and create a world with less breast cancer by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures for breast cancer, and by fighting back. In 2015, it is estimated that more than 230,000 new breast cancer cases will be diagnosed in the United States and that more than 40,000 Americans will die from the disease ? that?s about 110 people a day.
