Take the first step to help ?TAME DIABETES!? with the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi at Columbus Riverwalk, Sunday, October 18, 2015 for Mississippi?s Walk For Diabetes-golden Triangle! Join Walk 2015 to raise donations to care for Mississippi kids and adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, raise awareness of diabetes as a serious disease as well as celebrating and remembering everyone in Mississippi who has been affected by diabetes! Donations raised fund the programs and services of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, including Camp Kandu, Mississippi's only camp for children with diabetes and their families, "Sweet Subject" school diabetes education, patient assistance for needy Mississippians and more! Registration starts at 1:00 PM and the Walk/begins at 2:00 PM. There is a one-mile Family Fun Walk as well as a 3.1 mile/5K walk/run. Participants are invited to join a free picnic lunch immediately following the event! Teams and individuals are welcome! $20 minimum fundraising goal for each participant, those raising $50 and above receive a Walk T-shirt featuring a ?Tame Diabetes!? design by Marshall Ramsey!
